Web-Based Business, An Unemployment Solution

Some say the economy is coming back from the recession that has caused panic in both the employed and the unemployed. However, I have also heard that even after the economy comes back, a reduction in the unemployment rate could take quite some time. With thousands of people looking for work, I felt mighty glum about the idea of the unemployment rate continuing to rise. I have many friends and family looking for full time work right now to no avail. It seems that either a person is over or under qualified for each position. We’ve reached a point where even some fast-food restaurants will not hire a person without having experience flipping burgers or serving customers.

Last night I was talking with a friend of mine, she had been looking for a job and found that without 5-10 years experience, she was pretty much up the creak without a paddle. Her main question is, “how do I get 5-10 years experience if I can’t get a job because I don’t have 5-10 years experience?” It seems that this has been an issue for quite a few people. With the unemployment rate so high, employers don’t have to be in a hurry to find someone, they can take there time. My solution, for the job hunter…why not start your own business in the meantime.

Seriously, I always thought it would cost me a lot of money to start a business. The truth of the matter is that I can do it for almost free. I had a business plan worked out so that I only had to make three sales a month to make up the cost of keeping the web-based business running; the rest would be profit. I had decided that as long as I make those three sales, I won’t be losing anything. In fact, I would be gaining an education in entrepreneurship that could benefit me for years to come. In reality, not every business is going to be successful in a monetary way; however, every business is going to be a learning experience.

Since I live in a condo with very little storage space and three other people I should drop ship the products to my customers. Drop shipping will enable me to have the products shipped directly to my customers so that I don’t need to worry about where to store the inventory. No inventory, yet another way I can save money by starting a web-based business. I don’t have to pay for a lot of products to stock on my shelves, I can simply order the product as soon as the customer purchases it and have it shipped right to the customer. Seems like a good plan to me.

The moral of this story is…no matter if you’re employed or unemployed…what do you really have to lose by starting up a web-based business? Give it a shot and write your own checks!

They Do Exist: Ethics and Honesty

There are a lot of companies out there that would try to sell a useless piece of junk to their own grandmother…DO NOT fall prey to them. They’re the ones that make life seem so simple and easy, so simple that you don’t even have to try. I’ll tell you what, if a company tells you something that’s too good to be true, it usually is.

There are a lot of scams circulating their way around the business world right now. So much in fact that it’s becoming nearly impossible to find any one company that is trustworthy and ethical all at the same time (apparently there’s now a difference between the two). Someone once told me that in order to be in business, a person must be shady in some way or another; I submit that they are wrong! I know there are still companies out there that strive to give their customers the best and most fulfilling experience possible. I know this, because I work for one of them.

If at First You Don’t Succeed, You Should Have Contacted Your Dropship Companies

Confucius once said, “success depends upon previous preparation, and without such preparation there is sure to be failure.”

In order to prevent such failure, always contact the dropship companies you intend to work with before assuming that they dropship the particular product you want to sell. When you contact wholesale dropship companies, make sure that you also ask about any fees associated with drop shipping with that supplier before you get in too deep.

Some of the fees associated with dropship companies are price mark-up, same price, and monthly fee. A price mark-up occurs when the wholesaler marks up the product after getting it from the manufacturer. A second way to charge a fee is by selling the product for the price they were able to get it from the wholesaler but then charging a fee for each time a product is drop shipped. A third way is to be charged a monthly fee and then you can sell the product as often as you wish that month at the price of the wholesaler, without any extra fee associated with it. The dropship companies you’re working with may use all or none of these fees. If they use all of them, the chances of making a profit off the products are very low.

I cannot stress enough, the importance of contacting the dropship companies in advance. You would never want to post something on eBay, for example, and make a sale only to find out that the dropship companies you are dealing with plan to charge you extra fees. Running the Drop Ship Gauntlet

Throughout life we’ve all had times when we thought we could never get through the next obstacle. For some, we may feel much like that knight that has to run through that perilous gauntlet in order to claim his reward. We stand there at the head of the contraption, just staring at all the obstacles that lay before us and waiting for the right moment to jump right in.
As someone standing at the head of the drop ship gauntlet waiting for their turn to prove themselves, life may seam kind of rough. Let me tell you though, no matter how menacing that gauntlet looks, it’s worth it by the time you get to the other side and realize the accomplishments you’ve made.

I would like to somehow debunk the myth that drop shipping on eBay is not a possibility. Throughout time, civilization has only grown through opposition and effort, this does not exclude drop shipping. Some would say that, when confronted with a little opposition, one should turn tail and run the other way. I would like to submit that nothing is gained without first putting forth effort.

There have always been times of vast opportunities. Perhaps the opportunities have changed a little over time but the number of them has not. Opportunity is created through effort so who is to say you cannot succeed by drop shipping on eBay using dropship companies. One great way to find a supplier of the product you want to sell is through a drop ship directory. There are other ways but they are incredibly time consuming and may not result in the best possible products for you to sell. With a drop ship directory all you have to do is type in your product niche or a specific supplier and search the directory for those keywords.
