They Do Exist: Ethics and Honesty

August 31st, 2009

There are a lot of companies out there that would try to sell a useless piece of junk to their own grandmother…DO NOT fall prey to them. They’re the ones that make life seem so simple and easy, so simple that you don’t even have to try. I’ll tell you what, if a company tells you something that’s too good to be true, it usually is.

There are a lot of scams circulating their way around the business world right now. So much in fact that it’s becoming nearly impossible to find any one company that is trustworthy and ethical all at the same time (apparently there’s now a difference between the two). Someone once told me that in order to be in business, a person must be shady in some way or another; I submit that they are wrong! I know there are still companies out there that strive to give their customers the best and most fulfilling experience possible. I know this, because I work for one of them.

GoGo Dropship is dedicated to finding the strengths in each employee so they may be of more service to our customers. The people I work with are regular people like you and me. They struggle with various aspects of life and have financial worries just like you; it is this common adversity of life that helps us understand what you’re going through. At GoGoDropship, we’re not just anyone, we’re your neighbors, we’re your family, we’re your friends. We know how tough life can be, we can’t do everything for you but we can teach you and make starting a business a little easier for you.

A Glitch in the Niche

August 28th, 2009

Finding a niche is probably the hardest part of starting your online business. You’ve got your idea down pat, the margins look good, and you’ve got your wholesale dropship directory research team to work for you. Should be smooth sailing, right?

Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. There are often products that have high demand, but apparently very little competition. Sounds like the heavens have opened up, and you have found your manna from heaven. Often when something sounds too good to be true, that’s because it is. These great numbers are almost always because there just plain isn’t a wholesale dropship company out there that’s going to be able to help you.

There are a variety of reasons why a product may just be unavailable. Perhaps its not a popular item on the internet; athletic shoes are a good example of that. Maybe someone else has a stranglehold on the market; big brick and mortar stores that have carved out a niche often don’t want to be sharing any piece of that pie with online stores.

Whatever the reason, you have to realize that such situations exist, and be able to plan accordingly. It can be frustrating at times, but you just have to keep your eyes on the prize, and keep on searching!

If at First You Don’t Succeed, You Should Have Contacted Your Dropship Companies

August 26th, 2009

Confucius once said, “success depends upon previous preparation, and without such preparation there is sure to be failure.”

In order to prevent such failure, always contact the dropship companies you intend to work with before assuming that they dropship the particular product you want to sell. When you contact wholesale dropship companies, make sure that you also ask about any fees associated with drop shipping with that supplier before you get in too deep.

Some of the fees associated with dropship companies are price mark-up, same price, and monthly fee. A price mark-up occurs when the wholesaler marks up the product after getting it from the manufacturer. A second way to charge a fee is by selling the product for the price they were able to get it from the wholesaler but then charging a fee for each time a product is drop shipped. A third way is to be charged a monthly fee and then you can sell the product as often as you wish that month at the price of the wholesaler, without any extra fee associated with it. The dropship companies you’re working with may use all or none of these fees. If they use all of them, the chances of making a profit off the products are very low.

I cannot stress enough, the importance of contacting the dropship companies in advance. You would never want to post something on eBay, for example, and make a sale only to find out that the dropship companies you are dealing with plan to charge you extra fees. Every Wholesale Dropship Company’s Crazy ’bout a Sharp Dressed Man

August 24th, 2009

The immortal words of ZZ Top have always had a special place in business. Whether it be for that big job interview, or the meeting with a new client, the general rule of thumb has been to ‘dress for success’. In the online world, however, it is not always as easy to show off that clean shirt or those new shoes, but the concept is still a valid one.

Having scoured your handy wholesale dropship directory and finally come to the point where its time to get in contact with a supplier, you’re going to have to wow them, but the way to do it isn’t with a snazzy new suit, but a fine toothed comb. The most common way these wholesale dropship companies ask you to get in contact with them is by filling out an online application. While a lot of it is simple fill in the blank fields for business names and license numbers, you are often going to be asked for a little bit about yourself.

A supplier isn’t going to expect the next great American novel, but they are going to expect that you’re going to pay attention to grammar and spelling, and generally make sure any information you put in isn’t at a sixth grade level. This is your first impression, and as everyone knows, a first impression goes a long way, so you’re not going to want to mess that up!

Once you’re sure you’ve no typographical errors, the next step is to follow the suppliers’ instructions to the letter. They will generally have a lot of applicants, and they can easily afford to stop considering one or two if they show that they’re not willing to follow the rules that the supplier has set up. We understand that many are eager to get things moving, but skipping steps, or badgering the account department is a quick way to a bad impression and a possible rejection on your dealer application.

Follow instructions, pay close attention to details and exercise an extra little bit of patience, and you’ll be working hand in hand with your wholesale dropship companies like a pro in no time!

Running the Drop Ship Gauntlet

August 21st, 2009

Throughout life we’ve all had times when we thought we could never get through the next obstacle. For some, we may feel much like that knight that has to run through that perilous gauntlet in order to claim his reward. We stand there at the head of the contraption, just staring at all the obstacles that lay before us and waiting for the right moment to jump right in.
As someone standing at the head of the drop ship gauntlet waiting for their turn to prove themselves, life may seam kind of rough. Let me tell you though, no matter how menacing that gauntlet looks, it’s worth it by the time you get to the other side and realize the accomplishments you’ve made.

Let me remind you, however, that gauntlets are only for those with the right tools. Without them, you will surely fall short of your objective, which can be fatal. Any good knight wouldn’t dare go through the gauntlet without armor just as a business man or woman should never form dropship companies without the use of a drop ship directory.

When you are standing on the platform and don’t know how you are ever going to make it to the other side, remember that GoGo Dropship has qualified experts standing by to assist you and fit you with the tools necessary for success.

What We Have Here is… a Failure To Communicate

August 19th, 2009

As we’ve touched on before, communication is a key factor in developing a successful relationship with your dropship companies. This is of particular importance when you’re setting up your account with the dropship companies, but what many people seem to forget is that it remains just as important all throughout the tenure of your business!

One of the greatest disadvantages to dropshipping is that because you do not carry any inventory yourself, you are at the mercy of the dropship companies you use as far as shipping and stocking is concerned. In a particularly bad case, you could even find yourself with an order you have received, paid in full, but have no means of fulfilling it… the very definition of crisis!

However, that doesn’t need to happen. Most of the novice dropshippers’ problems come from simply forgetting to stay in contact with the dropship companies you are using. If they’re overloaded with orders, you want to know this! You need to know just how long they normally take to respond, or ship out an order before you start getting business flowing to them. You may not be able to control how they operate, but you can keep in communication with them and even try having a few sample items get shipped out your way in order to have a good understanding of just what your customers will need to expect when ordering items.

There’s a little extra cost involved, and a bit more work, but it is better to know all that you can about how your dropship companies operate, and keep in constant communication regarding inventory levels or just general levels of business, rather than remaining in the dark and possibly out of luck should an order fulfillment hit some bumps in the road. Plan in advance and keep the communication lines open and active, and you’ll do well in avoiding many sticky situations!

Dropship Companies: Your Road to Success

August 17th, 2009

I would like to somehow debunk the myth that drop shipping on eBay is not a possibility. Throughout time, civilization has only grown through opposition and effort, this does not exclude drop shipping. Some would say that, when confronted with a little opposition, one should turn tail and run the other way. I would like to submit that nothing is gained without first putting forth effort.

There have always been times of vast opportunities. Perhaps the opportunities have changed a little over time but the number of them has not. Opportunity is created through effort so who is to say you cannot succeed by drop shipping on eBay using dropship companies. Give it a shot; we have proof at www.gogodropship.com that profit can be made through the use of eBay and good dropship companies.

Live your dream of being an entrepreneur by starting off selling on eBay and see what happens. You can’t lose anything by using dropship companies; you don’t even have any inventory to worry about. All you need to do is set up an eBay account, find a good dropship company to set up an account with, and start selling on eBay. Of course, as in all business, you are going to want to communicate with the companies you’re working with and keep that contact open. Always make sure the company has inventory in stock and that they can drop ship that inventory to your customers, before you list the product on eBay. Dropshipping on ebay is merely a way to put forth effort to get yourself on the road to success, your destination is up to you.

If Friends Jumped Off of a Bridge…

August 14th, 2009

Would you do it too? A silly question our mothers no doubt have asked us a thousand times before. But when it comes to dropshipping and product sourcing, a lot us forget the wisdom of mommy dearest. We’re trying to figure out a niche, and its no easy task! Our minds wander to the familiar, and we start thinking about just how cool it would be to start selling that nifty new toy our co-worker’s been playing around with recently. iPhones are selling like hotcakes, so why not try and get a piece of that pie?

This is a classic friends-bridge situation! When choosing your niche, you have to stop looking enviously at what everyone else is doing and start looking at yourself. After all, trying to sell in a market where everyone else is milling about is just like jumping off that proverbial bridge: its a bad idea!

A good idea is thinking of something that isn’t just hip or trendy, but instead a product that is going to stand the test of time. Your goal in business is not to sell something that’s hot; there are a lot of “Hot or Not” business out there, and they’re scrambling to keep afloat as they leap from ‘hot item’ to ‘hot item’, fighting cutthroat and viciously to scrounge out a tiny profit in the proverbial Thunderdome.

Focus on something that people want right now, and are continuing to want later. Sustainability is the key to a strong product line, so it pays to keep that in mind and avoid the perils and pitfalls of the hot item market. You’ll want your store to be thriving and your customers coming back long after everyone realizes that the singing electric sock phone might not have been the wisest investment!

Drop Ship Directory: Product Research Team

August 12th, 2009

One great way to find a supplier of the product you want to sell is through a drop ship directory. There are other ways but they are incredibly time consuming and may not result in the best possible products for you to sell. With a drop ship directory all you have to do is type in your product niche or a specific supplier and search the directory for those keywords.

With GoGo Dropship, if you sign up for the Premium Package, you also get to put in requests to the Product Research Team. These requests are designed so that all the customer has to do is put in a research request on a certain product and the Product Research Team will find suppliers of that product and send them to you within one to three business days.

When selecting your product niche, make sure that the niche is not so specific that it is next to impossible to drop ship. For example, Nike brand swim goggles would not be a good product niche to try to drop ship because it is too specific. Name brand items are harder to find drop shippers for because these companies prefer to sell to brick and mortar companies who can purchase in bulk. It would be best to request swim goggles so that you get a better variety of swim goggles to choose from.

Communicate Before Taking Action

August 10th, 2009

My sister recently told me a story about her two little girls. One night, as the family was sitting at the dinner table together, her seven year old announced that she and her little sister like to talk in secret languages. The funniest thing is that she followed with “they’re so good, sometimes we can’t even understand each other”. Of course we all laughed…who wouldn’t? The point I’m trying to make is that what point is there in communicating if you aren’t on the same page as the person you’re trying to communicate with or even speaking the same language?

Let’s say you want to start an online business selling flat screen TV’s. You found a company that does wholesale electronics, now what do you do? It’s very important to establish effective communication patterns with your wholesale electronics supplier. You can do this by going to the contact page or the wholesale electronics page, if one exists. Some sites require the reseller to fill out an online form located on the contact page. It is suggested that you make contact with the wholesale electronics supplier before taking action. Ask them about their program. If you want to drop ship, you better ask them about that as well; do they allow drop shipping on eBay? It may help to write down some questions before contacting the supplier so you know exactly what you need to ask them.

Also, make sure that you understand what the wholesale electronics supplier is saying. It may be fun for my little nieces to communicate in secret languages that neither of them really understand but that is simply not the kind of connection that a person wants to have with their supplier. To be honest, a little bit of communication will go a long way in business so long as both sides are willing to give it a try.
